As I sit at my desk today I hear a knock on the door and it is my dear friend Lindsay and her almost two year old, Peter. Just to catch you up, Lindsay and I have been friends since high school and she has been the face of DVB up until recently. Donna photographed her wedding almost 5 years ago and now she has a little boy named Peter. They stopped by to chat and catch up and I can't believe how fast he has grown up. He is at my favorite age. You know the age when you say something and all they do is repeat it...I LOVE THAT! He is so innocent and loving and of course I could not resist grabbing a few shots!
Lindsay thanks for stopping by...I know that we don't get to see each other as much as we like but when we get together it is like we have never missed a day!!! Love you guys and I hope you have a happy new year!
Love U~

"Don't you feel like you are running the last lap of a marathon?"
My neighbor said this to me today and it made me laugh. She is so right...that is perfect, just sums it up. The mad dash until Christmas gets nuttier every year. No matter how hard I try to get it all done, wrapped, mailed, baked, cleaned, cooked...there is never enough time. I don't even break out the Martha Stewart identity for Christmas. My wrapping paper doesn't match...only the first three packages have bows, heck, there is a sheet over one of the gifts and poor Lou, I didn't even pull one of his gifts out of the shipping box (Hey, it came today - cut me some slack). My cookies for Santa are break apart and bake from Tollhouse. My ham is a Honeybaked and good God, my kids do not have Christmas outfits. Right outta Hallmark, I tell ya.
What we do have is a whole lotta laughs, some late nights, fabulous lobster from Maine (arrived today and I spent 4 hours, cooking, cleaning it and making bisque), and the delight of some sweet little boys who tracked Santa until bed time and for the first time in 3 months cleaned up the playroom until it was spotless without me asking.
We wish you a very, merry, low-key Christmas...and delight in the imperfections, because they make Christmas perfect.
And a very Merry Christmas to Melissa, who stopped me on the street today and introduced herself as a blog follower from Ohio. God Bless the Buckeye State.
I leave you with a few pics of our annual Gingerbread House decorating...thanks, Auntie Minette (in the first pic at her shop with the boys)
Love to you all!

Jordan and Will got married a few weeks ago...and in between Nolan's birthday (the day of their wedding) and Gray's tonsillectomy, I kept thinking I have got to blog Jordan. I know she is dying to see a sneak peek.
Jordan looked perfect...amazingly perfect. Her hair, her make up, her dress...all perfectly suited to her. She glowed! And Will was in love. He was speechless when he saw her. He just stared and Jordan had to ask him what he thought. ...he just shook his head. I love that --when the groom is overwhelmed with his bride.
He gave her a bible --which brought tears to my eyes. What a beautiful way to start a marriage.
I loved her dress..it swished when she walked...like she was floating.
Jordan's mom handmade all the santa ornaments for favors. Adorable.
Today has been a long day. My little man, Grayson, got his tonsils out. Bright and early we headed to Memorial Health and I thought I'd share a little photo essay of the experience.
Grayson was a little nervous a few days prior but woke up that morning raring to go. No questions, no worries...just, let's go get this done...but not without the tried and true "Puppers" that has been by his side since birth (as if it doesn't show --Puppers needs a few weeks in the ICU and then a stint on Extreme Makeover).
I would be remiss if I didn't tell you Grayson was fascinated with the idea of surgery and wanted to see his tonsils and what surgery looks like. The kid watches Discovery Channel all the time. So...in another shining moment of exceptional Motherhood displays...I searched for tonsilectomy on YOUtube...and that is exactly what I got...a video of an actual surgery. Yes, Gray saw it and wanted to watch it 5 times. Why didn't I turn it off??? because it would have been making a big deal out of it --like it was something to be afraid of and it wasn't very graphic --it was too close up. He loved it. It was gross and nasty...just like boys like it. I should also tell you we spent the next 20 minutes using a flashlight and a mirror so Gray could see his tonsils. The joys of Motherhood.
Hanging in pre-op watching cartoons.
Jason checking Gray's stats --height, weight (a whopping 48 lbs).
Brian, our anesthetist (and Daddy's good friend) came in on his day off to take care of Gray's surgery. Thanks Brian --hope you made it to Boston tonight.
Marianne stopped by...She is Daddy's boss and she was the first Memorial Anesthetist to hold Gray when he was born.
Catching up on some work...
"Puppers" gets his own wrist band so he doesn't get lost in the OR. Yep, he got to go back with Gray.
One of the benefits of having your Dad work at the hospital is that everyone stops by to say hello --and it is like a party Brian, Daddy, Drs. Patel and Brownlee and Jennifer. Dr. Brownlee performed Gray's surgery. He is an awesome guy and surgeon.
We are getting ready with a little "happy medicine" on board.
Even more relaxed in Dad's arms.
Off to the OR with Sally.
One last "I love you".
The view from the end of Gray's bed in recovery. The report...excellent surgery...tonsils as large as an adults. Whew!
The amazingly hilarious Dr. Randall who kept Gray sound asleep (with Brian) the whole time. I suppose Dr. Randall wants me to also tell you that he is exceptionally handsome...just ask his wife Erin:)
Thank Goodness, Lisa was taking good care of Gray. Poor guy is just waking up and miserable.
Sweet Angel....
I'll bet some of you are wondering how I could have taken pictures or what the heck I was doing taking a bazillion pics while my kid was having surgery. Well, honestly, it kept me from crying. I had to keep it together so Gray would relax, too. It kept the anxiety at bay and distracted Grayson. He was awesome, brave and so trusting. I just couldn't let him down. I only cried when Lou and I were alone. Gray has been on the couch dozing on and off since noon. He is such a trooper and seeing him so miserable breaks my heart. He is laying on me right now. And it is so precious.
Thank you for indulging me...
