Every so often, I get to share more than one event with a family...and it is such a privilege. I've known Josh for several years and he has always been like, well, a pesky little brother you can't help but love. He is a jokster, funny and all that...but man, that kid has a good heart. You can just see it in the way he treats people.
I hope my boys grow up with the same heart and goodness.
Last Saturday was Josh's Bar Mitzvah celebration. I don't normally photograph bar/bat mitzvah's with my wedding schedule...but this, I just couldn't say no.
Josh and his family celebrated all night --with tons of laughs and singing out loud, dancing --- it was a blast!
This breaks my heart...Toby and her son.
Thank you, Goldstein's, for including me. I love you!
How long until a wedding? 10-15 years!

Every once in a while I get to photograph at a new venue but I always meet a wonderful couple. Michelle and Steve chose the Metts Mansion for their wedding and though I had visited, theirs was my first wedding. The Mansion is something to see...then again, so was Michlle. She was so lovely and had the best smile. She did an amazing, truly amazing job with her details and decor. And...not so bad with her adorable groom either, Steve.
It was a big night for the Goldstein family...it was Josh's Bar Mitzvah. And while it was all about my buddy, Josh, I couldn't help but
share this image of his parents, Toby and Joe. I've come to good friends with Toby and Joe and one of my favorite things about them is how much they love each other. They still have it...I LOVE THAT! (Josh --it'll be about you later this week)
Love you guys!

We made it --but I am hanging on by a thread. I am usually so organized for the first day of school but with Nolan starting Kindergarten, which means 2 uniforms, full days, packed lunches, etc --I am a little overwhelmed with a new routine.
So let's start the year out right with one of my Mother of the Year stories...
You know, I always say I don't cry the first day. I am so happy to get a routine back and see the boys grow. I love it. Well, Nolan, he was prepped and ready for his first day of Kindergarten. New shoes, new monogrammed backpack, brand new belt, shorts, polo. Looking stylish if I don't say so myself. Nolan is my reserved, quiet child and I'll admit, on the shy side. That being said, he was excited to see all of his friends from Pre-K and already knew his teacher. No worries. No worries. Right?
Well, I am such a loving, kind-hearted soul (no laughing -just go with this), that I noticed a sweet little boy, new to the class, who was sitting alone. He looked a little nervous, like he was fighting back the tears. I pulled Nolan over and asked Nolan to say hello...you know, make so-n-so feel welcome...he is new...doesn't know anyone. Lou rolled his eyes at me cuz he knew what was coming. I pushed Nolan right out of his happy place and into hysteria. Out come the crocodile tears and the "I want to go home". We had to leave our crying child and rip his arms from Lou's neck. Good job, Donna!
Lou gave me the whole "he is not like you --he is shy" speech on the way home. And yes, my eyes welled up.
See --I am off to a great start.!
Here is a quick pick -- a little foggy from the humidty --hey - I was trying not to get in trouble for being late.

While Kelli and I were enjoying the cool breezes in Vermont, Joe and Heather were having a wonderful time photographing the morning wedding of Marcia and Ramsey. With the help of Melissa of M Livingston Events, the event was flawless and the details were spectacular.
